When his army-man father is killed in the Indo-Pak Kargil War, Matsya Thada (Ravi Dubey) gets found setting flame to the petrol pump given to his mother. In jail, he meets Anand Pandit (Piyush Mishra), a mentor who utilizes the Mahabharata lessons to prepare him for life when his term is completed. His ruse catches the notice of ACP Tejraj Singh (Ravi Kishan), a fierce officer sworn to catch the con artist. After then, it’s a cat-and-mouse game with a few con jobs thrown in for good measure.
The way Anand’s teachings from the great epic are conveyed in connection to Matsya is equally fascinating. For example, the first episode, titled ‘Abhimanyu,’ compares Matsya to the 16-year-old son of Arjuna and Subhadra who battles his way into the Chakravyuha without knowing how to get out, whereas Arjuna and Subhadra’s son fights his way into the Chakravyuha without knowing how to get out.
